After posting a picture of the homemade sangria my husband and I made this weekend, I received quite a few requests for the recipe so here it is:
1 orange - sliced thin
1 lime - sliced thin
1 lemon - sliced thin
1 cup blueberries
1 cup cherries - pitted
1 cup sliced pineapple
2 cut up granny smith apples
1 bottle red wine
1 bottle white wine
1 bottle citrus flavored rum
1 liter Sprite or 7-Up
Mix all ingredients together and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
I recommend using a container with a spout at the bottom, like the one we used. Use a large spoon or tongs to get the fruit for adding to your glass or just eating right out of the container.
Remember to support your local farmers and buy your fruit locally whenever possible.
